Abdul & The Coffee Theory
Abdul & The Coffee Theory is an Indonesian band that carries the genre of pop and jazz with a little touch of blues. Initially the band was initiated by Abdul, whose full name was Tengku Muhammad Abdullah Amin Ansari. This man born in Medan had previously released a solo album entitled “Bersandinglah” (2007). Abdul then changed the concept of solo singer into a band in 2008. The band was named Abdul & the Coffee Theory with additional members Alex (keyboard), Indra (guitar), Andre Coople (bass), Horas (saxophone) and Andrey Chilling (drums). The concept of the Coffee Theory originated from the idea of Abdul’s friends who like to gather and drink coffee. Together with The Coffee Theory, Abdul released an album titled “Lovable” (2008). The lyrics delivered in Abdul’s songs & The Coffee Theory are indeed made simple and romantic with a little touch of the jazz blues wrapped in their folk essence.

Laidthis Nite (read: ladies night) a band from Jakarta does not have any woman, but the name of a band with 6 men are not also newcomers, because they have been travelling the world with regular performances in famous cafes and clubs. Laidthis Nite released their debut single they are titled “GELAS KE 3” which was produced by Widi Puradiredja from Maliq & D’Essentials. This song has soul, disco & RnB pop nuances wrapped in falsetto sounds typical of vocalist Simon and Beboy, but don’t worry, the lyrics are simple and of course catchy. Tells a story about a man who was captivated and tempted by his heart towards a woman in a club. Laidthis Nite brings a stream of music such as Motown, Soul, Funk & RnB.
